Mental Health is Social Health
At PIIMH, we understand psychological well-being as deeply shaped by social realities.
As societies organise themselves around hierarchies of success and failure, people begin to measure themselves and each other through these imposed lenses. Where inequality exists, experiences of “less than” or “more than” emerge — attaching identity, belonging, pride, shame, or disgust to socially constructed categories.
These inequalities are not accidental.
They are rooted in the structures that organise our world — patriarchy, capitalism, caste, religion, and other dominant systems.
And psychological pain often lives at the intersection of these forces.

OUR WORK
From this understanding emerge our three interconnected focus areas
Our work grows from the belief that mental health is shaped by social realities.
To respond meaningfully, we work across education, community, and clinical care — three spaces that continuously inform one another.
Formation
Shaping socially-attuned psychotherapists

Formation is where psychotherapists are shaped — through knowledge, reflection, experience, and embodiment.
Reclaiming Inner Life
Community mental health through collective reflection

Reclaiming Inner Life is our work with communities — both privileged and marginalised — to understand mental health as a reflection of social conditions.
Listening Space
Accessible, inclusive clinical care

Listening Space is our clinical offering — an accessible and inclusive space where individuals are met in the fullness of their experience.
